Blue Mount Public School was founded in 1995 and is governed by Blue Mount Educational Trust, of which the Chairman is social worker Adv.k Vijayan and the Managing Trustee is Mrs. Sathy Alias Latha Vijayan. Blue Mount Public School was founded in Thonnakkal, the birthplace of the 'great poet Kumaranasan, who challenged the conscience of an entire society bound by untouchability, inequality, and fatalism.
This 'shrine of knowledge' upholds the poet's own watchword as its motto: 'knowledge through education and strengthen through organization. The school follows CBSE program of study and is committed to bestow international quality education to the common people. It prepares students to acquire skills and knowledge to catch up with the challenges of modern society and become responsible citizens in the epoch of globalization.

Kumaranasan is a well-known social reformer, created awareness in people of freedom of mind and spirit and independerice through his literacy works Like "Chandala Bhikshuki" and "Karuna". The school aims at producing students with a vision of harmony, peaceful co-existence and international understanding through character building and personality development. The school offers special Communicative English Programme. Teachers proficient in English handle classes from Kindergarten and the school has made communication in English compulsory. Our curriculum is designed to enable the senior students to handle the entrance examinations and other competitive examinations successfully.
